Halloween Music

I’m a big Geek, this should be no surprise. As such, this is the time of year when I find myself saddened that Halloween gets the short end of the stick when it comes to holiday music. Every artist and his brother has cut a Christmas album, but there is a severe shortage of Halloween music.
I do my best each October to scour the internets and bulk up my pathetic Halloween playlist, usually to no avail. Sure, I’ve got plenty of horror movie theme songs, but that’s just not enough sometimes.
I’ve had limited success in my hunt, but I did find a winner last year that I want to share with you. It’s a song by the band Singlefile called “Zombies Ate My Neighbors”.
Yes, it’s a send-up to the classic 1993 Konami Horror classic of the same name:

You can listen to the song for free here. Fair warning: it’s pop-punk and sounds kinda emo, but in my opinion the lyrics are actually mocking emo. (e.g. “And there she was, glaring, through olive eyes and chalk white skin. I want you to know that I won’t be holding back tonight. She stole my heart. I’ll be taking hers with a lawn dart now.”)
Please enjoy, and post your favorite Halloween songs in the comments.
