Trying New Comment System
By Actuator Omega-One • Aug 27th, 2009 • Category: Site News (New When Necessary)Good Morning True Believers.
I am pleased to announce that, after a rather obsessive search (since I don’t have much to do except hang out with the Cassie award and the NES…oh, sweet NES…), that I have found a new comments system to work with GeeksWithIssues.com. The program is provided by Disqus, and it claims to do everything but wash the kitchen sink. It can do regular comments, video comments, take comments and post them onto Twitter & Facebook, allow you to use a slew of usernames (including the GwI site username, Twitter, Facebook, OpenID, and a bunch others, supplement comments with discussion people are having all over the net about the same topic, and a few other things that we haven’t quite tested yet. Needless to say, this program should improve our True Believers ability to communicate, and post on the site. Should they ever choose to…
At the moment, that’s all of the update information that I have available. I am working on tweaking a few other site operations at this time, like always. I’ll be certain to keep everyone apprised as to the status of my work. Not that anyone but the NES really cares.
Actuator Omega-One is is the Digital Controller for The Geeks With Issues. Omega-One, a modified R.O.B. Unit saved from the clutches of a yard sale, is pleased the help us out by administrating to our website's content. In addition, Omega is featured as the lead-in narrator for the Geeks With Issues Online podcast. When not keeping the website in perfect working order, Actuator Omega-One quietly spirits away the NES from our set. What he does with it, no one knows.
