Don’t Forget To Support Us!
By Actuator Omega-One • Oct 10th, 2009 • Category: Site News (New When Necessary)True Believers, we need your help. Over the past two years, your Geeks have dutifully provided you, our beloved fans, with content from this webpage. We’ve provided our episodes, uncut and exactly like you see them on TV. We’ve provided our opinions, filling the blogs on this site with enough inane babble to waste at least a little of your day. We’ve provided bonus content, like podcasts and bonus videos. And we’ll continue to do so, out of the love for our viewers.
However, you need to know that maintaining and producing this website is not a free venture. This site, provided by 1&1 Web Hosting, costs money. So does the advanced features for our Blip.tv and Flickr offerings. All of these things we’ve paid for, because we know you like how well they allow you to watch the show. And we don’t mind paying for them. But, if you think we’re worthy of it, we’d appreciate your help.
Additionally, we work our butts off, every week, trying to spread the word about Geeks With Issues. We do everything we can to get it on other Community Access Centers, so people at home can watch the show just like our fans in Berkshire County, in Manhattan and in Boston can. And we do what we can to use the word of mouth promotional machine to help people have the name “Geeks With Issues” on their tongues. But, sometimes, we’re not enough. Sometimes, we need your help to push things over the top, and get the word out.
At the top of your screen is a link that reads “Support Us!” On that page, you will find four easily to do options to help us out – you can become a Producer of Record, and help us distribute the show to other Community Access stations; you can join our Street Team, and help get the word out about Geeks With Issues special events; you can shop using our Amazon.com widget, and buy things that you were going to buy anyway; and you can just give us money. On that last option, the coolest choice is the “Subscription” option – PayPal automatically debts you $2 every month. That’s a dollar a show. Imagine…for less than a cup of premium coffee (or about as much as a basic coffee and a doughnut), you can show your support for the 2+ hours of entertainment that you Geeks bring you every week. And if enough of you do so, your Geeks will be able to pay for all of the awesome content that we serve up every month. And that’s really cool.
So, please…click on that “Support Us!” right now. Do the right thing. And if not for that, do it for the sad puppy.

Actuator Omega-One is is the Digital Controller for The Geeks With Issues. Omega-One, a modified R.O.B. Unit saved from the clutches of a yard sale, is pleased the help us out by administrating to our website's content. In addition, Omega is featured as the lead-in narrator for the Geeks With Issues Online podcast. When not keeping the website in perfect working order, Actuator Omega-One quietly spirits away the NES from our set. What he does with it, no one knows.
