I know what a couple did for their wedding in China. Fan Yalin, a wedding organizer, enjoys classic Chinese weddings. Everything from the attire or the bride not being able to step on the ground until standing on the alter with her to be husband. Yalin being contracted for another wedding was astonished when instead of the husband carrying his bride to the alter they opted to have a a multi-ton trench digger to carrie them both to a designated area and were married many meters in the air.

Fun times for everyone on the ground I can just hear Grandma now, “Are they to the vows yet?”

“No Mom,” grumbled the father of the bride, turning her to face the commencement, and flicking mud off his gator skin shoes.

"Hero" the Tv show produced by you know who....

Pull up your tights, center your masks and get ready for another superhero TV show produced by excelsior himself, Stan Lee. Based around the book ”Hero” by Perry Moore, the story looks into secret identities and super hero social issues aka “kryptonite”. Even though I found this out of the blue, I was impressed that they got the author to write the screen play and that Showtime is developing the project, so it might not be all that bad for a one hour special. Not being my cup of tea necessarily (read synopsis), but if Stan Lee want to produce a story about a gay superhero then gosh darn-it I’m going to watch.

To wet your appetites, here’s the synopsis for the book:

“At the same time that he’s coming to terms with his sexual orientation, basketball star Thom Creed is trying to figure out exactly what his untrained superpowers can do. In an attempt to break away from his seemingly non-understanding father (an ex-hero with something to hide) and homophobic community, Thom runs away, only to find himself in the middle of a multi-hero rescue operation. Using his ability to heal, he keeps an injured woman alive until the League superheroes arrive and impresses them enough to get an invitation to try out for a hero apprentice position. Thom is teamed with an old woman who can see into the future, a spiteful girl who unleashes her power through fire, a sickly boy who is able to inflict disease on anyone, and a demoted hero with insane speed. With superheroes dying in mysterious circumstances, Thom is forced to admit publicly that he is gay in order to prevent a miscarriage of justice, but finds himself cast out of the League. He organizes his ragtag team to figure out what is really going on and to fight society’s prejudices as well as the criminal element of the town. The story tackles love, friendship, and the eternal struggle to come to terms with who we really are in a tactful, interesting, and well-developed manner. Although the beginning is a little slow, there are subtle hooks that will keep readers’ interest, and once the action picks up,Hero becomes a real page-turner that is worth the wait.”

What would you do to get a hold of some of Christopher Nolan's Money?

On my mindless quest to find things online I came across an article that might just make every one wet them selves a little. Huseyin Kalkan, a turkish Mayor, is reportedly suing Chris Nolan and Warner Bros. over the use of the name “Batman” in the blockbuster The Dark Knight. He said and I Quote:

“There is only one Batman in the world,” Kalkan said.

“The American producers used the name of our city without informing us.”

Yes thats right Kalkan is the Mayor of the town Batman, Turkey and is looking for compensation through Warner Bros. because of the “illegal” use of the name. Kalkan also goes on in saying that his towns name was Batman before the release of the character in 1939, and he has “proof”.

One last snippet before I go, Kalkan, our begrudged mayor, in his statement that there have been murders in his town because of the use of the name Batman. That because of the movie Nolan directed the rate of female suicide has gone up in the town do to it’s psychological impact.

I look forward to see if the gentleman from Turkey gets any headway with his allegations or if the mayor of Batman is just looking for a pay out from Nolan’s and Ledger’s near Billion earnings.

Proof (1)

Tell me one thing, do you remember the first story you ever yelled at someone not to disturb you over? I do, it came one evening maybe ten to fifteen years ago, rain cutting veins across the sliding glass door in the back of our skeleton house. Dad was cooking up a masterpiece on the stove somewhere in the house and one of my siblings yelled something trying to pull me away from Alan Grant’s realization that there were Dinosaurs walking in front of him. I don’t exactly remember what I yelled back, but I did end up not eating that night and had a sore bottom to boot. I didn’t care, I was able to finish one of my first favorite books, Jurassic Park.

In the following weeks, the subsequent reading of the rest of Micheal Chrichton’s works was a tireless pursuit. From The Andromeda Strain up to Sphere, the steady stream of thrillers were breathtaking to a pre-teen story glutton and for me at the time brought the delivery of stories to a whole new level.

Micheal Crichton I bid you farewell, your stories and my memories will exist between Tom Clancy’s The Hunt for Red October and the Odyssey, and in time making others stay up way past their bedtime.

What you didn't know you could do with your eyes and more...

What talents can you associate with your eye balls? Well, I’ve got two or more for your list, the first is an interesting talent by one Ru Anting. A Chinese man who writes calligraphy from his tear ducts. How does he do it you ask well as a child swimming for school he found he could freak his fellow class mates out by collecting with his throat, shooting into his nose and out his tear ducts.

Now if this wasn’t enough, or gross enough the second thing you can add to your list of thing to do with your eyes also has to do with calligraphy but instead of explaining the process just look at the fallowing pictures.

Xiang Chen another talented Chinese man has been making his beautiful art since he was 16 and claims he feels no pain when playing with his 4.4lb paint brush. He also has many other talents pertaining to his eyes, and yes that included playing the piano. If you don’t believe me take a look at the video I have attached.

Warning there is no graphic content just stuff that will make your eyes water allot and in some cases make you cry. Chen great Talent.

I leave you with one last thought … I was listening Weird Al the entire time I wrote this article. Try Pancreas for full effect.

Proof…(1,2)
